Rudy Gobert is the newest and most exciting addition to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was traded to the Wolves from the Utah Jazz in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro, the draft rights to Walker Kessler, and multiple draft picks.

After nine seasons with the Jazz, Gobert is ready to turn over a new leaf and begin a championship career in Minnesota. He discussed his future with Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns Wednesday afternoon.

Rudy Gobert said that he was surprised when he found out that he was joining the Timberwolves. He said that Minnesota wasn't one of the first teams to originally express interest in him.

“Me and KAT had been going at it for many years and we're very unique and different players,” Gobert said.

He admitted that he wasn't sure if their unique games could work together harmoniously.

“I was thinking about it every day when I was going to bed. I was thinking about it more and more, and then I was like, ‘that's probably the best, the most exciting challenge for me.'”

Now, the center is excited to join forces with KAT in the upcoming season.

“I couldn't hope for a better situation, and it just happened…I'm really excited to be here,” Rudy Gobert said. “We're gonna be very unique. I don't think there's gonna be another team that is gonna be able to bring to the table what we bring to the table. My goal is really to make Karl a better player on both ends and make his life easier and allow him to be even better than he already is. I think his presence is going to do the same for me.”

Gobert also name-dropped young star Anthony Edwards, emphasizing his excitement to play alongside “one of the most exciting young players” in the NBA.
