The Minnesota Timberwolves continue their relentless search for assets to fill the last three remaining roster spots prior to the start of training camp. After spending a whopping amount in the contracts of Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson, and Jamal Crawford this offseason and an imminent five-year, $148 million extension awaiting Andrew Wiggins — the team has nothing but minimum contracts to offer.

The Wolves have had free agent marksman Dante Cunningham in their sights for a few weeks now and are waiting on his decision, owner Glen Taylor told Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500. The New Orleans Pelicans are also expected to extend an offer to keep him.

Minnesota is also hoping to sign a combo guard to provide flexibility to its bench, which would put the roster at 14 players, one shy of the limit coming into the preseason.

As the days pass, the market only becomes more difficult, with some NBA players choosing to sign overseas before the clock runs out, and others, like former Timberwolf Brandon Rush, getting signed by other teams.

The organization has been shaking every tree possible, even considering signing Andrew Bogut, who was coming off a tibial fracture and agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
