With the latest bombshell report surrounding Ben Simmons, it's looking more and more like the Philadelphia 76ers will be forced to move him before the NBA season begins. The Minnesota Timberwolves have long been mentioned as a possible destination for the All-Star. Could they be the team to pounce in the end?

While the Timberwolves is reportedly not willing to move their most valuable assets, namely prized sophomore Anthony Edwards and franchise face Karl-Anthony Towns, they've reportedly been highly proactive in their pursuit of the 3-time All-Star.

Via The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski:

In conversations with teams in Las Vegas, I came away with the impression that the Timberwolves were the team that was most active in talks to try to make a Simmons deal happen.

Formulating the package necessary is one matter, having Ben Simmons want to play in Minnesota is another one entirely. The Sixers star has been vocal about his desire to play for a Calirfonia-based team.

However, one Reddit user claims to have gotten confirmation from Krawcyznski that Simmons is potentially interested, or at the very least “open” about playing for the Timberwolves. This comes after the same Timberwolves reporter 2confirmed on KFAN Sports Radio that Simmons would be willing to play with friends Towns and D'Angelo Russell, as well as teaming up with fellow Klutch client Edwards.

Jon Krawczynski is a trustworthy source when it comes to Timberwolves news, but at this point nothing is for certain unless it comes directly from Ben Simmons, the Sixers, or the TWolves themselves. Nonetheless, the Ben Simmons sweepstakes are shaping up to have a thrilling conclusion, with Minnesota holding more than a few tickets for the grand prize.
