The Tennessee Titans currently reside in first place in the AFC Playoff race. This team is on fire and everything seems to be going right despite losing Derrick Henry for the season. Even so, AJ Brown took it upon himself on Friday to open up about depression, mental health, and self-harm.

Buck Reising shares AJ Brown's heartbreaking video, where he opens up about issues he was dealing with in 2020. It's never easy opening up about mental health, but society has become more open to it over recent years.

Depression is a finicky thing. Nobody really knows who is depressed until something is said. Who would have thought AJ Brown was experiencing depression in the middle of the 2020 season? When the Titans were playing well and in playoff contention and Brown living out his dream playing in the NFL?

Even though it seems like things are fine on the outside, AJ Brown clearly was dealing with some personal issues this time last year. The Titans' receiver was able to overcome it and power through. Obviously Brown wants to relay a message to anyone dealing with their own problems and feel lost. He leaves this powerful message in his video:

“I'm still here. Still going. Still smiling. I got a lot of things to be greatful for. I just want to encourage everyone to protect your mental. Talk to someone, get things off your chest. Do things that make you happy. It's so important.”

This is great for AJ Brown to open up and share his experiences with the world. Of course, it's not ideal to suffer from mental health or have thoughts of self-harm. However, Brown overcame it and is spreading the message to as many people as he can. For that reason, he's still on the Titans living out his dream of playing in the NFL.

For anybody struggling, take AJ Brown's advice and seek help. Look for someone to talk to, and keep fighting.
