The Tennesse Titans are getting some important players back to their team ahead of their third game in the preseason. On Monday, Jonnu Smith and Ryan Succop were both removed from the physically unable to perform list per Turron Davenport of ESPN.

As it pertains to Smith, the 23-year old tight end is recovering from an MCL injury that ended his 2018 season. Smith started in 12 games for the team before being put on injured reserve for the last four games.

The Titans drafted Smith in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Florida International. The Titans were intrigued by Smith's athleticism and pass-catching ability during the draft process.

The second-year tight end stepped in as the starter in 2018 after veteran Delanie Walker sustained an injury early in the season. Smith corraled 20 receptions for 258 yards and three scores as the team's primary tight end.

This season, Tennesee is hoping to get Smith back in the lineup alongside Walker. The Titans are expected to utilize more two tight-end sets in their offense in 2019.

As for Succop, the longtime kicker underwent knee surgery earlier this offseason. Since then, the Titans' placekicker has been unable to join the team after being on the PUP list during training camp.

In 2018, Succop made 26 of his 30 field-goal attempts with the Titans. Additionally, Succop made eight of his 11 attempts that were 40 yards or longer.

Succop is entering his sixth season with Tennessee after spending his first five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Both Smith and Succop should be on track to be ready by their Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
