After enjoying a much-needed bye week, the Tennessee Titans receive some great news heading into the final stretch of the season. This team is in the middle of the playoff race and needs all the help they can get to maintain their spot. The offense has been lacking firepower due to injuries, but it sounds like superstar receiver Julio Jones will be returning soon.
According to Josina Anderson, “the Titans have designated Julio Jones to return from the Injured Reserve list, clearing his return to practice.” Considering how bad the offense has looked the past two games, this is tremendous news for Tennessee.
Julio Jones has been dealing with injuries all season and the Titans put him on the IR to give him the necessary time to heal. Tennessee is just two wins away from clinching a spot in the postseason and could be leaning on Jones to help them do so.
As of now, AJ Brown is still on the IR and won't return until late in the season, or perhaps the playoffs. Additionally, the Titans are still hopeful that Derrick Henry returns in January. If that's the case, Tennessee could be near full health just in time to make a serious run in the postseason.
For now, the Titans will enjoy having Julio Jones back in practice. His playing status is still in the air though, as Jones will need to get up to speed with the offense. Regardless, having Julio Jones back is massive for Tennessee.
Look for this team to come alive in the final few games of the year. The run game was incredibly efficient against the New England Patriots, which bodes well for their success. Having Julio Jones back on the field will only benefit this team moving forward.
We'll see if the Titans can get back in the win column, as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.
