Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel had a FaceTime conversation with Tom Brady this past weekend, and given the Titans' reported interest in Brady in free agency, it obviously perked some ears.

But Vrabel, who was a teammate of Brady' with the New England Patriots from 2001 through 2008, insists that it was a harmless talk. Well, kind of.

“My relationship goes back to 2001 with Tom Brady. Those friendships aren't going to stop,” Vrabel said on NFL Network. “He's a QB with an expiring contract.”

Hmm…

Vrabel kind of, sort of contradicted himself a bit there, because clearly, there was more to his conversation than Brady than simply catching up on old times.

Could that be tampering?

Maybe, but let's be honest: this type of stuff probably goes on with impending free agents all the time, and if the NFL cracked down on every single case, it wouldn't have time for much else.

The Titans are considered one of the biggest threats to pry Brady away from the Patriots and apparently feel pretty good about their chances of snatching the quarterback away in free agency later this month.

Ironically enough, Tennessee knocked Brady and New England out of the playoffs this past January, defeating the Pats in the Wild Card Round and sending them to their earlier postseason exit since the 2009-10 campaign.

The Titans then made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady has spent the first 20 years of his career with the Patriots and has led the franchise to six Super Bowl titles, but the chances of him leaving seem very real.
