Seattle Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has made it clear he plans on joining a bonafide contender in free agency. The Tennessee Titans would be wise to inquire about his interest in signing with them this offseason.

Clowney is undoubtedly one of the biggest names set to test the waters if free agency. Pro Football Focus feels he would make a perfect fit for Tennessee.

Clowney finished 2019 as the 10th highest-graded edge defender and won on 16.6% of his pass-rushing reps, which ranked 29th. The interest has to be mutual, for the right price, of course.

Of course, it remains to be seen just how much mutual interest there is on all sides. Regardless, there is no question that this would be quite the splash from Tennessee.

The Titans certainly fit the billing as an up-and-coming playoff contender. After all, they managed to spark quite the resurgence in the 2019 NFL season by turning things around and fell just one game short of punching their ticket to the Super Bowl. While they may not have been able to get the job done this time around, they still made quite the statement to the rest of the league.

It is safe to say that Tennessee is in the market for a premier pass rusher this offseason. Clowney is coming off an underwhelming year from a numbers standpoint after registering just 31 tackles, three sacks, and an interception, however, he still managed to make the Pro Bowl as an alternate.

Regardless, Clowney is set to command a high price tag on the market. It will be interesting to see if the Titans are among the teams looking to acquire his services.
