The Tennessee Titans fell just short of the playoffs last season. Heading into 2019, there was no reason for them to believe they couldn't improve and find themselves in the postseason this year.

However, now they're facing an uphill battle after a major suspension was dropped on them. Star tackle Taylor Lewan failed a drug test and is now facing a four-game drug suspension.

Taylor Lewan posted a video to Twitter, explaining the situation. He denies taking the substances knowingly. Of course, this is something that most players will say, which always makes it harder to know when someone's actually telling the truth.

That's the problem though. If you assume they're all lying, you're going to be wrong about some – shedding a worse light on them than there should be.

It should be noted that Lewan also takes responsibility though. He doesn't try to pass the blame to anyone or act like the test is wrong. He simply points out what happens and apologizes. That's the perfect way to bring the situation to light. Lewan says he didn't knowingly break the rules, but still apologizes.

However, that's not what's important here. The important thing is how much of a blow this is to the Titans. Lewan is one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL. He's an extremely integral part of the Tennessee offense and without him, things could go downhill fast.

The Tennessee Titans will still go into the 2019 NFL season looking to make a playoff run. Things have been unexpectedly complicated with the news that Taylor Lewan's facing a four-game suspension though.

Can they overcome this speed bump?
