There has been plenty of speculation regarding where defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will end up as he continues to test the waters in free agency. It seems the Tennessee Titans have now emerged as potential frontrunners to land his services.

According to Jim Wyatt of the team's official website general manager Jon Robinson says the Titans have been in contact with Clowney's representatives:

Robinson said the Titans have been in contact with the agents for free agents Logan Ryan and Jadeveon Clowney.

The prospect of Clowney heading to Tennessee would certainly make for a big splash. After all, they have been relatively quiet in free agency despite their efforts to clear up cap space. This was highlighted by their decision to trade defensive tackle Jurrell Casey to the Denver Broncos for merely a seventh-round pick in return.

As a result, the Titans now have a major void to fill along the offensive line with Casey's departure. It is safe to say that the addition of Clowney would alleviate the loss by providing some much-needed star power on the edge. With $25 million left in cap space to work with, it will be interesting to see how they go about addressing their needs up front.

Clowney has taken his time with mulling through offers as he continues to recover from core surgery this offseason. Reports suggest that he is hoping to secure a similar deal to that of Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Chicago Bears edge usher Khalil Mack.

However, he may have to eventually settle for the next highest number if he hopes to land with a potential playoff contender like the Titans.
