Veteran defensive end JJ Watt has already garnered significant interest from several teams shortly after parting ways with the Houston Texans over the past week. Houston Chronicle‘s John McClain pointed out that the Tennessee Titans may have emerged as a potential suitor with a bevy of signs showing that Watt's arrival can be a possibility in the near future.

The Titans currently have a gaping hole in their pass-rushing unit as Jack Crawford, Matt Dickerson, and Larrell Murchison didn't pose a significant threat to opposing quarterbacks as much as the team wanted to. Watt's inclusion in the room would definitely give them much-needed depth and veteran leadership moving forward.

On another note, Titans team owner Amy Adams also donated $1 million to Watt's Hurricane Harvey relief fund back in 2017. The calamity caused flooding and devastated many parts of the Houston area where Watt used to play with the Texans. According to the Tennessean, the relief operations were able to raise over $37 million which aided people who were affected by the incident.

Another factor would be Watt's relationship with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. The tactician previously served as the linebackers coach of the Texans from 2014 to 2016 before he was promoted to be the team's defensive coordinator in 2017.

Having formed a bond already, Vrabel would definitely welcome his former player at the helm if he chooses to do so. The Titans recently concluded their 2020 season with an 11-5 record for the top spot in the AFC South. However, they bounced out of the playoffs after succumbing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round by way of a 20-13 loss.

JJ Watt's arrival could potentially help the Titans reach greater heights and inch closer towards their goal of winning a championship for the first time since 1961.
