The NFL paid homage to legendary cornerback Darrelle Revis when he announced his retirement earlier this week. To no surprise, Tennessee Titans cornerback Adoree Jackson has wasted no time in singing his praises.

Revis was the best corner of his generation and arguably one of the greatest of all time. Jackson says his resume speaks for itself, via TMZ Sports:

“Darelle Revis is gangster, man,” Jackson said.”It speaks for itself. Legendary.”

Jackson added that Revis should be on his way to Canton in his first year of eligibility.

“I mean, I would assume. He shifted the game when I first started watching football.”

There is plenty of truth to Jackson's comments. Revis' legendary tenure in the league is chalk-full of reasons why he should be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. However, his career can be summed up by the nickname for his area of coverage dubbed “Revis Island”.

That said, the praise from Jackson should come as no surprise. Revis served as a model of excellence for many promising, young cornerbacks like himself. It would be wise of Jackson to continue taking pages out of his book if he wants to take his game to the next level.

As encouraging as it would be for Jackson to model his game after a player like Revis, there is no question that the Titans' star seems to have a bit more “Primetime” in him. Much like NFL legend Deion Sanders, Jackson's versatile skill set allows him to be used in any situation whether it is offense, defense, or special teams. Regardless, he still has a long way to go before even entering the same stratosphere as the aforementioned players.
