As expected, Twitter was filled with hilarious memes about Jon Jones after Francis Ngannou won the UFC World Heavyweight title with a brutal knockout of former champion Stipe Miocic. Jones, after all, will be moving to the HW division soon, and some fans believe maybe he should reconsider that decision.
But as far as Bones goes, he's not backing down from the big boys at heavyweight — even if the new champion is one of the scariest finishers in MMA history.
Jones was quick to fire back at his detractors claiming he should be ducking Ngannou.
If anyone is wondering if I really want to fight, the answer is yes. I also really want to get paid.

The controversial Jones, who is considered by a large following as MMA's GOAT, doubled down on his desire to conquer two divisions. He reminded his doubters that he has been preparing his body to move to HW and won't turn down a shot at Ngannou if given the chance. However, he also made it clear that he'll only do it if the money is right.
I quit the light heavyweight division, literally gained a massive amount of weight. And now people are saying I’m afraid? Everyone but me claiming that I’m afraid. All I asked was to get paid.

Jones even scoffed at the notion that he should drop down to the 185-lb division instead just to avoid Ngannou.
Go to 185? I didn’t gain all this weight for no reason 😂

A potential Jones versus Ngannou match-up will undoubtedly become the biggest fight in UFC history. Jones is still technically undefeated in his MMA career, while Ngannou is already one of the most terrifying finishers in the sport.
Some pundits, however, have already questioned if Jones deserves a title shot right away in his first fight at the new division. But if there's anyone more deserving of cutting the line and getting an immediate title shot, it's definitely Jon Jones.
