Anderson Silva, a UFC and general MMA legend, looks like he's calling it a career. While not going full retirement mode when discussing his future, he did admit he was likely done.

After being released by the UFC, Silva did an interview with ESPN in which he got brutally honest.

“I think MMA for me is done,” UFC legend Anderson Silva told ESPN's Ariel Helwani. “Because it's hard to train MMA. It's hard to stay training in a good level because you hurt yourself a lot. Now I just try to enjoy. I don't need to prove nothing for anybody. I just try to enjoy every single moment I fight in different sports. And that's it.”

This isn't exactly shocking if you've paid attention. Obviously, there's the trope of combat sport athletes hanging around for far too long, but this is a bit different, as there's not exactly a ton of viable options for Silva even if he wanted to keep fighting. Not to mention, there's unlikely a road back to the UFC for him.

Now 46, Anderson Silva did go on to say he still plans on enjoying MMA. If this is indeed it for the living legend, he'll finish his career with 34 wins, 11 losses and one no contest. Then again, maybe one of those YouTube brothers need to get smacked around by the UFC icon.
