Tom Aspinall believes he matches up well with UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Aspinall returned to the win column in emphatic fashion after a first-round TKO victory over Marcin Tybura in the UFC London headliner last night.

The Englishman would make his future plans very clear after the win — be in attendance for the Ciryl Gane vs. Sergey Spivac fight, beat the winner and then go on to face Jones.

That said, Aspinall was also worried as to whether Jones even knew he existed. That was definitely answered following UFC London when “Bones” responded to Aspinall's callout on Twitter.

And for Aspinall, that was a moment to celebrate in itself.

“Jon Jones knows I exist,” Aspinall said at the post-fight press conference (via MMA Junkie). “Woo-hoo! That’s a win itself. I’m buzzing with that. What I want to do, and I’ve been saying it all week, is: I want to win my fights going forward, of course.

“But also, another goal of mine is I want to motivate Jon Jones to stick around and fight me. That is my absolute dream.”

Jones, of course, is scheduled to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on Nov. 10. However, he has also hinted at potentially retiring after the fight which would mean Aspinall would lose his chance at facing arguably the greatest fighter of all time.

That would be an added shame for Tom Aspinall as he feels he's a bad matchup for Jones.

“I think I match up well,” Aspinall added. “It’s a dream fight of mine. I think I’m young and I’m fresh. I’ve not got loads of miles on the clock. I’m big. I can do everything well. I’m fast, I’m strong, I’m heavy, which is unlike a lot of his opponents who he’s fought in the past.

“I just think I bring something different to him, and I think he knows that, as well.”
