Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is high on the seemingly bright future of Paddy Pimblett in the sport.

Paddy Pimblett took the UFC by storm in his very first fight under the famed MMA promotion's banner. Since then, many have raved about the former Cage Warriors champion who was even likened to Conor McGregor at one point.

However, it was Michael Bisping who gave Pimblett the biggest compliment he has ever received since joining the UFC.

According to Bisping, there's no assurance that Pimblett can win a UFC title in the future but as far as overall package goes, “The Baddy” already has that of a championship-caliber fighter.

“I know [Pimblett's] he’s got great grappling, he’s got excellent jiu-jitsu…He’s lightweight right? It’s probably the toughest division,” Bisping assessed via Ariel Helwani's “The MMA Hour.” “But certainly on paper, he has the mindset; mind control is everything. Paddy has the confidence, he has the mindset, and he seems like he has the work ethic…I’m very excited to see the ride.”

Indeed, the UFC title is still far-fetched for Pimblett. One thing that's closer to reality at this point is him taking on a top contender next. However, the 27-year-old wants to ensure he's taking home a big purse first before making a move.

“I’m not fighting a top-10 [opponent] on the money I’m on, lad,” Pimblett said last month. “[I wanna] Get paid that money to fight Tony Ferguson, lad. Yeah, he’s still one of the best [lightweights] 155’ers in the world, lad. I want f—–g six figures, lad, then I’m fighting him.”
