Dana White and Joe Rogan have been with the UFC since the late 90s. The two are today seen as the biggest faces of the company and many can't help but picture them when talking about the UFC and its rich history.

Rogan, however, has been heavily criticized for his role in the UFC lately as many feel he is not taking his role as a commentator very seriously. White was recently asked about Rogan and he gave his honest thoughts on the commentator.

“Another guy who deserves a ton of credit for helping build this sport during our era is Joe Rogan,” UFC president White said on THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas. “The reality is that when we got into this, everybody understood standup fighting no matter what happened. Punching, kicking, elbows–we all get that. The big thing for us was when it goes to the ground, how many people are really going to understand what’s going on and what they’re seeing?

“Because if you’ve never done jiu-jitsu, you don’t know what the hell they’re doing,” the UFC president continued. “Joe Rogan was, first of all, passionate about the sport, no. 1, (and) no. 2, so good at walking you through what was going on before it even started to happen. To have a guy like him behind the mic, he was very instrumental in helping build the sport.”

It's safe to say Joe Rogan is someone that UFC president Dana White has a lot of respect for. The two go back a long time.
