Belal Muhammad has widely been regarded as a nice guy since he's been in the UFC. The welterweight takes on another nice guy in Stephen Thompson at UFC Vegas 45 on Saturday.
Where Belal Muhammad stops being a nice guy is on the subject of Colby Covington. The UFC welterweight can't help but express his disdain for the former title challenger.
“Yeah, I truly dislike him,” the UFC welterweight said at the press conference via MiddleEasy. I don’t like him, I hate him and I just wanna punch him in the face. So, after beating this guy then it’s either Colby or Leon, or in the words of Justin Gaethje we riot.”
His feelings on UFC super prospect Khamzat Chimaev are a lot nicer. He sees the Swedish fighter as an opportunity for whoever faces him.
Article Continues Below“Honestly, Khamzat was one of those where he’s the biggest name right now, the biggest star that has the most momentum, the biggest hype. He has Conor McGregor hype where it’s like you beat him you gain more from beating him than anybody else in the division. Where he has this stigma of him being the boogieman of how he just dominated everybody, so it’s like you could beat a guy like that you’re the next star.”
Belal Muhammad will put himself in an excellent position to fight either man should he get past Stephen Thompson. The South Carolina-based fighter is a very tricky veteran.
Belal Muhammad will be hoping a win gives him the chance to put the paws on Colby Covington. The UFC will be paying attention to see if it's a worthy matchup.
