Conor McGregor may have lost his last fight to Dustin Poirier, but he's strutting like a winner right now. His Irish whisky company, Proper 12, was recently bought out, essentially doubling the former double champion's net worth.

McGregor launched Proper 12 back in 2018. It became an instant success, as McGregor himself was featured in every commercial. He consistently advertised the brand in these last three years, and now has sold the company, per JOE.

At present, the company is valued at approximately £220 million, meaning the acquisition of his 51% – along with business partner, Audie Attar – will receive around £112 million, consequently doubling his own net worth.

For a man who started his life poor, living on welfare, and working as a plumber's apprentice, McGregor's transformation into a multi-millionaire is one of those stories you love to hear about. Conor McGregor literally fought his way to the top, winning two UFC belts, earning a huge payout from fighting Floyd Mayweather to now being an extremely successful entrepreneur.

It'll be interesting to see if Conor McGregor steps into the octagon again, as clearly, he doesn't need to. He's entered a stage no UFC fighter has gone before, as he's making more money than anyone else within the organization not named Dana White.

Working in uncharted territory, Conor McGregor may start a new company soon to sell it for millions later. He's now in a position where he's making substantially more money through business than he is fighting, which must be a nice change of pace for the former UFC champion.
