Israel Adesanya recently went off on New Zealand and its government due to their strict quarantine and lockdown laws that make training and competing in MMA extremely difficult. The Nigerian-New Zeland fighter was especially upset at how difficult his teammate, Dan Hooker's training was leading up to UFC 266.
He made the announcement on his social media, notably on Twitter and Instagram.

He revealed that the whole City Kickboxing team was moving to the United States with him and they would be continuing the gym in the USA. For Israel Adesanya, it's about the people involved, not the location.
City Kickboxing has a good group of people and is home to some of the biggest fighters in the region. The gym has a good reputation and will thrive in its new country.

The big motivation is also avoiding the two-week quarantine rule once they get back from their fights. That makes things extremely difficult as not everyone can afford to be away from their lives and family for two weeks, coaches and training partners included.
Israel Adesanya had experienced frustration recently about the country and labeled the government as ‘racist.' He also detailed that journalists in New Zealand were camping out in front of City Kickboxing and taking pictures of them illegally going to the gym, as everything is currently under lockdown.
The move is a positive one for the champion, Israel Adesanya but not for the MMA scene in New Zealand. This is going to be a big problem that will keep happening if they don't make some changes.
