Katlyn Chookagian is coming off of a big win over Amanda Ribas at UFC Vegas 54. The win has put her back in the title picture and she has plenty of options ahead of her if not the champion Valentina Shevchenko.
The UFC flyweight was pressed by Michael Bisping to tell everyone what she wanted next. Katlyn Chookagian laid out a few options but ultimately she wants to face Valentina Shevchenko next for the belt.
Article Continues Below“It’s like a broken record, I want the title shot,” UFC flyweight Chookagian said via MMAJunkie. “Obviously, I want my second shot at Valentina (Shevchenko) for the title, but anyone else, as long as I can stay active, whoever is ready the soonest, I’ll do.”
If not Valentina Shevchenko next, Katlyn Chookagian has plenty of options in the flyweight division. There are former UFC champions and other names that could be available for her next.
“Any girl that I haven’t fought,” Chookagian said. “If Miesha Tate wins, Alexa Grasso, that French chick can get it. Anyone.”
There is no doubt Katlyn Chookagian will be staying at flyweight after beating Amanda Ribas by decision at UFC Vegas 54. The division is full of options and continues to develop into a fun weight class with more names joining.
“I think over the past year the flyweight division has been evolving so much,” Chookagian told reporters backstage at UFC Vegas 54 on Saturday. “We’re seeing fresh faces and just different girls who are becoming better and it’s becoming a deeper, more interesting division.”
