UFC welterweight contender Stephen Thompson has reached a point in his career where the talks of retirement are starting to creep up. Questions on what he'll do next and what he's going to do, have been growing over the years.

Stephen Thompson remains one of the best strikers in MMA and utilizes his Karate and Kickboxing background to great effect. It's frustrated many opponents in the UFC.

Stephen Thompson recently did an interview with MMA News’ James Lynch where he was asked about his future after the UFC. The welterweight doesn't see a future in MMA outside of the UFC.

“We’ll see, man, maybe do some kickboxing afterward,” Thompson told MMA News. “I still have it in me, man. I still have competitiveness in me. I don’t want to fight for any other organization when it comes to MMA, so the UFC’s it for sure. If I want to end my MMA career, it’s gonna be with the UFC.”

Stephen Thompson has had a lot of success in kickboxing and holds quite the impressive record of 58-0. He was a dominant force before entering the world of MMA and joining the UFC.

The South Carolina native has fought for a UFC title on two occasions with both fights coming against Tyron Woodley. The first fight was scored a draw and the second fight was a decision win for Tyron Woodley.

Stephen Thompson is set to return in December with an opponent yet to be announced. Many have speculated it could be Neil Magny who is currently looking for a fight.
