There have been a lot of rumblings lately about a potential fight in the future between boxing heavyweight Tyson Fury and UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou. The latter is heading into his final bout under contract with Dana White's organization as he looks to retain his belt this weekend against Ciryl Gane.
White was asked on Saturday following UFC Vegas 46 about Fury trying to reach out and schedule a fight with Ngannou, who is also clearly interested. And according to him, it's a bit of a joke.
“Listen man, these guys… None of this surprise me. It’s like these boxing guys need guys to fight,” White said. “You know what I mean? And it doesn’t surprise me at all.”

Ngannou is of course interested in inking a new deal with the UFC, but he's looking for a boxing clause within the contract:
“I hope so, yeah absolutely this is something that is going to happen,” Ngannou said of the fight with Fury. “I know that I am definitely going to be in boxing, I don’t know when or how yet or the landscape at that moment.
“But that is the only reason I can’t confirm it with Tyson Fury. I want to sign a contract with the UFC and have some boxing matches in my contract like a minimum of two times.
“It will help me get pay and live a good life and possibly have the championship!”
Would Dana White actually allow him to cross over to boxing though? That remains to be seen. But with two specimens in Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou (definitely more the latter based on physique), this would be an absolute battle if it ever came to fruition.
