Jorge Masvidal was shockingly arrested on Wednesday night following an altercation with Colby Covington in Miami. The two UFC fighters came face to face outside of a restaurant in Florida.

It was reported that Jorge Masvidal found out about Colby Covington's location through Instagram. The controversial UFC welterweight was on the Nelk Boys' Instagram story after doing their podcast.

Jorge Masvidal pulled up to the restaurant and punched Colby Covington. The UFC fighter suffered a broken tooth and other minor injuries as a result.

The police were called by Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal was arrested a few days later. The former UFC lightweight is now out on a $15,000 bond and had a hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission where he attempted to get a license for his promotion, Gamebred Fighting Championship.

“Since I do have an open case, I’m not supposed to talk about it, but I guess you’re referencing that,” Masvidal responded as first reported by MixedMartialArts.com. “If we could table [the application], it would be better. Right now, I had mutual [combat] with another athlete and I can’t say too much on that, but if we could table it for later, that would be amazing… To my knowledge, I have not been charged. I do have lawyers on the case, and they’re talking back and forth.”

The hearing ended with the commission opting to wait until his case was resolved before making a decision. It will have to be seen if the UFC chooses to do anything with Jorge Masvidal.
