Two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Za'Darius Smith was recently released by the Green Bay Packers for salary cap reasons. Smith's arrival on the free agent market added to what was already a strong group of pass rushers, with stars Von Miller and Chandler Jones finding new homes. The former Packers star had no shortage of suitors, as he even agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens before shockingly backing out, citing differences between he and the franchise on terms of the contract. Available once again, Smith is now being courted by a team that will drive Green Bay fans mad. The division-rival Minnesota Vikings are eying Smith in free agency.

Per Tom Pelissero, former Packers star Za'Darius Smith has a visit with Minnesota planned for Monday. With contenders such as the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs circling around Smith, his market is beginning to heat up.

The last thing Packers fans want to see is Smith gearing up to come after Aaron Rodgers in Vikings' purple. However, it seems like that nightmare Green Bay scenario certainly has a chance of occurring.

Smith's presence would elevate a Vikings' defense that already ranked in the top-10 in both sacks and pressure rate. Not only that, but he would be reunited with Minnesota's outside linebackers coach Mike Pettine, who was Smith's defensive coordinator in Green Bay for two seasons.

Smith appeared in just one game for Green Bay this past season due to a back injury, so he'll be hungry to return to the form that saw him tally double-digit sack seasons in 2019 and 2020 while earning Pro Bowl honors in both years.

After shockingly being cut by the Packers, could Smith remain in the NFC North with the Vikings?
