NBA players and fans have been looking for ways to pass the time since the season was suspended. Notably, one of the most popular activities is watching highlights. The league has done their part in this, offering a free League Pass so fans could watch their favorite games. They have also been active on social media, regularly providing followers with iconic throwback plays. The league’s Twitter account, in fact, posted one particular video of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry that caught Philadelphia 76ers' center Al Horford’s eye.

This was perhaps one of Curry’s most iconic plays. The video depicted the Warriors superstar pulling up for a 38-foot go-ahead bucket against the Oklahoma City Thunder back in February 2016. However, as impressive as that already is in and of itself, this play is only part of the story.

The eventual game-winner was actually Curry’s 12th 3-pointer, which at the time tied Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall for most made threes in a game. Golden State then won the matchup, improving to 53-5, and finished later on with a historical 73-9 record. The following season, Durant would sign with the Dubs and form a dynasty that resulted in two NBA championships.

The 2019-20 season has unfortunately been rougher for the Warriors with Klay Thompson’s ACL injury and Kevin Durant’s departure. Curry suffering a fractured hand four games into the season further compounded the team’s problems and resulted into a league-worst record. Their franchise point guard has then played his fifth game of the season against the Raptors before the unprecedented suspension.

No one knows how the league is going to handle the rest of the schedule, but the long unplanned break is certainly going to affect the outcome of this regular season.
