San Francisco, CA – As Stephen Curry missed his fifth game due to a tailbone injury, he hasn't been pleased with the play of the Golden State Warriors in his absence. Kevon Looney said Curry had a powerful message for the team after dropping their fourth game in a row losing to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

“Steph (Curry) gave us some good words in the locker room about how everyone has to look themselves in the mirror and see what they can do better,” Looney told Clutchpoints.

Curry has been more vocal on and off the court this season, more than we have ever seen from him in the past. Taking on more of a leadership role seems to be a focus for Warriors star. Andrew Wiggins talked about Curry's words of encouragement in the locker room postgame.

“When Steph talks, you listen. We’ve got to find it within ourselves to find ourselves and win some games,” Wiggins said.

“Obviously, Steph being out is huge. You can’t replace Steph no matter what you do. You can’t replace him, but we’ve still got enough talent on the team to win and at least compete.”

The Warriors have two days off before their next game against the new-look Chicago Bulls and recently acquired big man Nikola Vucevic. It will be another challenging game for the Dubs in a complicated juncture of the season.

Stephen Curry is recovering as expected and should return soon, which is good news for the Warriors. Until then, the Dubs have to figure out how to win without their superstar if they want to be where they desire this postseason.
