On Tuesday night, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry passed Ray Allen for the most made three-point shots in NBA history. It was a magical moment at Madison Square Garden as the Warriors took on the New York Knicks.

Midway through the first quarter, Curry made history.

Curry, in true Curry fashion, stepped back and sank a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer. He jogged back to the other end of the court fired up, pumping his chest.

The Warriors guard broke the record in over 500 games less than it took Allen to break the mark previously held by Reggie Miller.

Afterward, athletes from all walks of the sports world chimed in on the amazing feat. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady took to Twitter to congratulate Curry, saying “What an accomplishment.” That is a message from one GOAT to another.

Allen, the previous record-holder, was in attendance at MSG. After the historical feat, Curry shared a hug with Allen for an emotional moment together.

Curry is back in top form, leading the Warriors to the best record in the NBA. Entering play against the Knicks, the Warriors were 22-5, a half-game ahead of the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference.

Stephen Curry is having one of his best seasons, averaging 27 points, just under six rebounds, a little over six assists, and almost two steals per game. He is already the only player ever to hit 400 3-pointers in a single season. He is on pace for 440 this season, which would break his own record.
