JJ Redick gained a lot of new fans after he called out Chris Russo on live TV after the latter went on a bonkers tirade against Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Veteran broadcaster Colin Cowherd has now spoken out about the epic incident and it sounds like he's taking Redick's side here.

For starters, here's the clip of Redick coming to the defense of the Warriors star after Russo said that Green should just “shut up and play:”

Cowherd has now shared his thoughts on this dust-up and according to the long-time sports broadcaster, he understands where Chris Russo, as an “old school broadcaster,” is coming from. He then went on to heap praise on Redick for his fearlessness and his emergence as one of the brightest up-and-comers in the industry:

There's no denying that Russo's comments have been met with a ton of controversy with even Draymond Green himself claiming that the former's comments had a “very racist connotation.” Unlike the Warriors star, however, Cowherd has decided to steer clear of the race issue as he focused on the incident from the perspective of a broadcaster.

Cowherd clearly has a lot of respect for Redick, though, considering how JJ apparently doesn't even like him.
