Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins had no chill when it came to Zion Williamson's freak injury and the consequences it could have for his career in the NBA, blasting the NCAA in the process.

“Knowing what I know now college is bulls**t,” said Cousins, according to Logan Murdock of the San Jose Mercury News. “College basketball and the NCAA is bulls**t. So my advice to him is do what's best for you and your family. College does nothing for you at this point, you've already proven you're the No. 1 pick coming out, you've already proven your talent. Get ready for the next level because it's happening.

“That's my opinion, knowing what I know now. Obviously, when I was at that age, you enjoy the moment, you enjoy the experience and all that but I mean there's so many risks involved when you get to the ultimate goal, which is this level. Just do what's best for him and his family. “

Williamson's injury quickly turned the conversation from being a stock depressant for Nike and his future hanging on the extent of the injury back to the NCAA's model being harmful to athletes with such talent.

The projected No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft burst through his shoe 33 seconds into a rivalry game between Duke and North Carolina, sidelining him for the rest of the game and making GMs around the league take a deep breath, cautious of the ramifications it could have into their selections.

Cousins was a one-and-done product out of Kentucky, from the same 2010 draft class that brought other NBA studs like John Wall, Eric Bledsoe and Patrick Patterson into the league.

Williamson is destined to burst into the league after he recovers from his injury, and Cousins is now one of many who have suggested he should sit out the remainder of the season in order to save his future and the millions that come with it.
