Golden State Warriors star DeMarcus Cousins has opened up about the difficulties he endured during the rehabilitation process of his Achilles injury.

To recall, Cousins, back when he was a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, suffered the Achilles tear on Jan. 26 in the finals seconds of their game against the Houston Rockets. After a few days, he underwent season-ending surgery. During the lengthy rehab period, Cousins experienced several hardships. Per Logan Murdock The Mercury News, Cousins opened up about his struggles, noting that it tested him not just as an athlete, but as a person as well:

“It's really tested me as a person, as a man, as an athlete. I've had a lot of dark days, a lot of good days. I've questioned myself a lot but I've found a way to overcome all those bad feelings so I see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

On top of his doubts about whether or not he'd come back healthy, Cousins probably questioned his capabilities and attitude as a player. After all, the 28-year-old did reveal that a good reason why he signed with the powerhouse Warriors team was that no other basketball club gave him a competitive offer.

Now, DeMarcus Cousins is slated to return soon. He's currently getting his rhythm back by practicing with the Warriors' G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. Once he's a hundred percent healthy, we will see him share the floor with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green.
