DeMarcus Cousins is a guy who has been painted as selfish, childish, moody and mercurial throughout his nine-year NBA career.

That's why some eyebrows were raised when Cousins signed a one-year, $5.3 million contract with the Golden State Warriors over the summer.

Sure, the good majority of NBA fans bemoaned the signing, spitting out all of the usual platitudes about how the Warriors ruined the league and all that, but some took a more practical approach and wondered: how would Cousins get any shots in Golden State?

For a guy who is very offensive-minded and who has even been viewed as a cancer by many, it was a legitimate question.

However, Warriors guard Klay Thompson said that Cousins is absolutely not worried about his touches:

“You can plug him in anywhere and he’ll doo well,” Thompson said, according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “DeMarcus isn’t concerned with touches. We know how to find him when he’s open. He’s got to be ready to shoot it. He can translate to any system and adjust to anything you throw at him.”

Cousins made his season debut against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, scoring 14 points on 11 shots in 15 minutes of action before fouling out.

Obviously, the Warriors made a concerted effort to get Cousins the ball in what ended up being a blowout win, as 11 shots in just over a quarter is a lot.

To be fair, the Clippers sagged off of Cousins, leading to the big man draining three 3-pointers, but this is definitely an interesting situation to monitor as the year progresses.
