Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided updates on two of his starters, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins, before the Warriors begin their 2021-22 season against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Tuesday night.

According to Kerr, Wiggins will be on a minutes restriction as he ramps up his conditioning. Green could be on a similar program, the Golden State head coach acknowledged.

That said, both players will start for the Warriors, joining Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney.

Wiggins missed part of the preseason with knee soreness, and was unable to practice early on due to his initial reluctance to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Friday, Kerr told NBC Sports that it would take a little time for Wiggins' conditioning to be back to normal.

“He’s probably a couple weeks away from really being able to have his conditioning and rhythm where he wants it to be, and that’s fine,” Kerr said following Golden State's final exhibition game. “That’s usually the case with a lot of guys as you head into the regular season, so he’ll be fine.”

Wiggins averaged 18.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 2020-21 — his first season with the Warriors.

As for Green, the three-time All-Star provided an optimistic self-diagnosis on Tuesday afternoon.

“I feel pretty good,” he said, via The Athletic's Marcus Thompson. “I feel really good actually. It’s really about finding that rhythm. My conditioning is good.”

The Warriors and Lakers will begin their season at 7 p.m. PT. Frank Vogel said Monday that the Lakers have decided who will start, but won't reveal the lineup until 30 minutes before tip-off.
