After his verbal confrontation with Kevin Durant back in November, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green knew that he was the only one who could correct it.

Durant and Green took the headlines with a heated argument during a regular season game against the LA Clippers. KD called out Draymond for not passing him the ball and causing a turnover, to which the latter gave a rather overemotional response — even reportedly calling the two-time Finals MVP a bitch.

The argument reportedly continued in the locker room after their loss and Green was eventually suspended for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Now, in an interview with Shams Charania of The Athletic, Green opened up about the incident once again and shared that he realized his mistake soon after his confrontation with Durant. He then revealed that he promised Warriors president Bob Myers and head coach Steve Kerr that he would fix the issue with KD.

For sure. That can go one or two ways; we would go one way or the other. I knew that it would go whatever way that I wanted it to go. I told Bob (Myers) and Steve (Kerr), ‘At the end of the day, the only person that can correct this is me.’ I promised them I would. I was obviously dedicated toward making that right and making this run to the Finals. I had to draw that line in the sand, and I knew what was most important to me and us.

We had a championship in our mind. I understood whatever issue was there, we had to move on. At the end of the day, only I could correct it.

Durant and Green seem to have already buried the hatchet after months of talk about the alleged disconnect inside the Dubs' locker room due to the argument. Golden State is in the Finals, and as everybody knows, winning helps in solving internal issues in basketball.

The Durant-Green conflict is expected to be opened again when free agency starts, especially with Durant set to make a decision about his future. But at least Dray did his part and has moved on.
