Draymond Green's incident with Kevin Durant after an overtime loss to the L.A. Clippers proved that his leadership style could at times come off as too abrasive to others.

Yet the Golden State Warriors forward won't change his leadership style just because one incident that went sideways.

“I am the leader that I am, at the end of the day,” Green told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. “You learn from different situations, whether it's mistakes, whether it's things you did right. And you take them with you.

“But as far as like changing my style of leadership or the way I lead, no. Never. It's been successful. So I won't change it because of one incident.”

Green had to navigate the murky waters of heavy media attention after the incident and even after it costed him a game's “rest” for his actions, he made up for it by reaching out to Durant and ironing things out over the course of the next few games.

The Warriors have proven to at times need that fiery presence that can spark them to their full potential, and they have had to take the good with the bad for the past few years, hoping there is more benefits to reap than regretful situations.

Toying with his leadership style is messing with a formula that has proven to work for Golden State and one that has materialized in the form of three championships in four seasons. Not bad for a fiery guy.
