Earlier this season, the NBA world went nuts when Golden State Warriors forwards Kevin Durant and Draymond Green got into a very public altercation during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Durant was annoyed Green did not get him the ball in the closing seconds of regulation and gave Green an earful.

The fight is water under the bridge now though, and the Warriors are one win away from the NBA Finals. However, Green recounted the story during Sunday's practice and added another piece of information. He recalled how Durant stood up to him and held him accountable.

“It’s funny because when the stuff happened with Kevin earlier this year. He said, like, ‘Everybody is giving you this pass like, Oh, that’s just Draymond. He’s emotional,” Green said, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

“But (Durant) said to me then, like, ‘You’re not emotional. I’ve seen you lock in and not say a word to the referees. I’m not giving you that pass.’ That’s kind of stuck with me.”

Both men were a little at fault here. It is unacceptable to blow up at your teammate so publicly, and the situation caused much-unneeded drama.

However, if the spat led to an increased level of respect and closeness between the two stars, it could be worth it in the end. Now, Green will hope the man who had the guts to not let him off the hook can join him on the court as he recovers from his calf injury.
