Draymond Green is one of the top contributors to the Golden State Warriors. However, he might be taking a personal day in the future. He is planning on taking the night off when LeBron James inevitably breaks the all-time NBA points record.

On his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors star made the announcement and directed it towards his coach, Steve Kerr (quote transcription courtesy of Sports Illustrated).

“Congrats to LeBron, second all-time…Probably in 50 more games or so, 50 or 70 games or so he’ll be first all-time. And I can’t wait to see that…Steve Kerr, I’m throwing this out there right now, if LeBron James is passing the all-time scoring record and we have a game, I’m going to LeBron’s game and witness history,” the Warriors' power forward said.

On Saturday, James passed Karl Malone's 36,928 career points to secure second in all-time points, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He put up 38 points in the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Washington Wizards. Meanwhile, he was only 19 points behind Malone.

As of Thursday afternoon, James has 36,985 career points. He is 1,402 points away from Kareem's record of 38,387. With this in mind, there's still some time before Green has to miss a game for the Warriors.

James currently averages 30.0 points each game. At that rate, it will take him roughly 47 games to earn the title of All-Time Leader in NBA Points.
