Amid Klay Thompson's leg injury which dampened the Golden State Warriors' hopes in returning to title contention, the team is staying optimistic. They still believe that the sharpshooter will not miss the entirety of the 2020-21 season.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Warriors still don't know how severe Thompson's right leg injury is until he undergoes his MRI on Thursday. But amid this uncertainty, they still hope that Thompson will not sit out all of next season.

Note that Thompson suffered an ACL tear on his left leg in the 2019 NBA Finals. He subsequently missed the entire 2019-20 season.

Klay Thompson suffered the injury during a workout in Southern California. Not much is known other than that the Warriors guard was unable to put weight on the injured leg.

Last season, the Warriors missed the star core of Thompson and Stephen Curry for almost the whole campaign. As a result, the Dubs recorded just 15 wins and were dead last in the Western Conference.

It was a new sight for Dubs fans, who saw their team win three titles in a five-year span. But given that Thompson, Curry, and Green are well within their primes, Golden State expects their team to return to contention in the 2020-21 season.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James sent out his thoughts and prayers to the Warriors' marksman, hoping that it's just a “super minor” injury.

James Wiseman, Golden State's second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, was also quick to offer his prayers to his new teammate.
