Prior to a Saturday night Game 1 tilt with the New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference semifinals, the status of All-Star point guard Stephen Curry is the top question in the team's mind as the date approaches.

Curry is slated to be re-evaluated on Friday, coincidentally a day prior to the start of the series. He has ramped up activity and participated in scripted practices in hopes to slowly gear him up into playing shape.

Warriors' GM Bob Myers was optimistic on his potential return to start the series, noting the option could become a possibility if it all goes well.

“It's conceivable,” Myers said on 95.7 The Game on Wednesday. “He's gonna try and practice… if he can get in tomorrow's practice and Friday and doesn't have any setbacks and feels physically ready, then there's a chance he can go.”

“But if there's any notion of him having any issues in any area, he wouldn't go on Saturday. But the good news is, if he's practicing — which is the plan — that means you're pretty close…

“So… conceivable — I don't want to put a percentage on it because I don't know — but I'm not saying inconceivable… we'll know more pretty soon here.”

The Warriors will be ultimately careful with Curry, who has only played in 51 games this season after being marred with multiple injuries. No longer under a low-risk, high-reward contract, the organization will prioritize reaping the most out of its $201 million investment without putting him in any danger of re-injury.
