San Francisco, CA – If there was one positive that came out of the Golden State Warriors game against the Boston Celtics, it was the play of Jordan Poole. All season the former Michigan standout has succeeded in whatever role Steve Kerr has asked him to play in.

Wednesday night, the Warriors lost to the Celtics, but Jordan Poole single-handedly made the game competitive by scoring 29 points. The crafty guard scored 27 of his 29 points in the second half.

Poole scored at least 20 points or more in his last eight games. After the Boston game, reporters asked if he feels when a scoring streak is coming.

“I can’t yet. I’m still trying to figure it out,” Poole told ClutchPoints. “I'm just locked in. Draymond (Green) and Loon (Kevon Looney) just told me to be aggressive, and that’s all I really could do with Steph being out. I don’t have an answer for you yet, but I was definitely locked in.”

For parts of this season, Poole filled in for Klay Thompson while the latter was rehabbing. During that time, Poole played at a higher level than some people's expectations. Now that Stephen Curry is out indefinitely, he's going to have to step up again. Closing the season on a positive note would be an obvious positive for both the 22-year-old and the Warriors.

Poole is averaging a career-best 17.1 points, on 45.6 shooting from the field.

Now he's facing his biggest challenge. He will be the lead guard for the first time in his career, and leading the Warriors is his responsibility. It's a lot to ask from a 22-year-old, but Poole is one of the few who can step up to the challenge.
