According to a recent TMZ report, Golden State Warriors forward Kelly Oubre, Jr. has filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, Makena LeDuff. She allegedly extorted “Tsunami Papi” almost $3 million and if he didn't comply a “smear campaign” would be launched damaging his reputation.

Per TMZ and Oubre, LeDuff made contact with him last Jan. 11, 2021. She demanded the huge sum of money or “… she would make public her false, scurrilous, and extortionate allegations by the end of the week,” as stated in the lawsuit. Allegations include Oubre's involvement in criminal conduct.

This is déjà vu for Oubre as he filed a lawsuit against the same woman back in 2019. In the suit, he asserted that Makena stole his two dogs, Saint and Soul. Furthermore, she allegedly slashed his car tires and did not agree to vacate the Beverly Hills house Oubre was renting. In August of that same year, the former Kansas Jayhawk claimed that LeDuff's social media post wherein she was posing with a rifle in the aforementioned house was a threat to him and his allies.

Due to the escalation, Oubre's legal team amended the initial suit to include punitive damages. Oubre is also asking the judge to make LeDuff pay for property damages and have him declared as the rightful owner of Saint and Soul.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has had a rough start in the Bay Area. This is accentuated by his 2-for-24 shooting from 3 in the first five games of the season. As of late, though, he has begun to pick up steam and fill up the stat sheet. On Jan. 14, in the loss against the previous season's Western Conference Finalist, Denver Nuggets, Oubre notched 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
