Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors notched three-straight games with at least 40 points for the first time in his career.

Per the Warriors PR, Durant broke the 40-point mark in their duel against the Toronto Raptors. His 40-point streak started last Saturday in their win over the Sacramento Kings.

Against the Raptors, Kevin Durant finished with 51 points on 18-of-31 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from downtown. He also added 11 rebounds and six assists to his name. However, they lost in overtime 131-128, despite mounting a comeback in the third and fourth quarter.

For the season, Durant is averaging 29.2 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting. For the past few games, he's been forced to carry the scoring chores for the Warriors as Stephen Curry is still out with an injury.

Kevin Durant may be knocking down individual records but his team isn't necessarily racking up the victories. The Warriors have lost six of the last 10 games. And in these games, Durant has easily scored over 25 points, save for their loss against the Washington Wizards where he crawled his way to 20 points on 40 percent shooting.

With Curry expected to return Friday against the Detroit Pistons, Durant should have a huge scoring load eased from his shoulders.
