Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is not just an amazing basketball player. He is also trying to be a good businessman.

Durant has multiple investments focusing on the tech world, including companies involved in cloud computing, sports technology media, and delivery services. But he wants to be in business with what he does best — basketball.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, there are sources who say that Durant has serious intentions of purchasing an NBA team after he retires. It's also been said that this desire has only gotten stronger after the former Thunder star joined the Warriors.

It's also not just about ownership. Durant wants more African-American players in NBA staff too. In an interview with ESPN, he said:

“MJ was the first big Nike athlete, the biggest star of his time, but if you don't have the trajectory, that path, that journey, it's going to be hard to do what he did. But you can still affect the NBA and the game of basketball in a different way. You don't have to be an owner. I think it should be more guys in the positions of power like general managers and scouts and coaches. Anything that involves the day-to-day operations of these franchises. I think more players and more experienced players should be in those positions.”

It's understandable that Durant feels so strongly about the issue, especially because of the racial tensions in the country as of late.

Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James is also not shy on expressing his thoughts of owning an NBA franchise after his career.

And what a coincidence — Durant and James are going to play against each other on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, in a game that is much anticipated by everyone because of its Finals rematch feel.
