Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant seemingly disagrees with what former Golden State Warriors teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green had to say about Rodney McGruder after their game on Saturday night. Durant “liked” an Instagram post that quoted a comment from Detroit Pistons veteran Wayne Ellington, who called the two Warriors players “unprofessional” for their comments about McGruder.

The issue began when McGruder exchanged a few words with a Warriors player on the sidelines after absorbing a 118-91 loss on Saturday night. Thompson, who's out for the season due to an Achilles injury, was on the air with NBC Sports Bay Area when the altercation happened and took this jab at McGruder:

“I don’t know. This dude might be out the league soon. He’s probably mad about that, who knows?” Thompson claimed. “Over here trying to start something like he’s a good player or something.”

In a postgame interview after the Warriors' victory, Green then bared his opinion on the matter and further ripped McGruder:

“I was in the locker room, but apparently he was taking up for Wayne Ellington? When the f–k did Rodney McGruder become the tough guy of the team?” Green said. “I don’t know man, everybody in the league tough these days. It’s crazy. I’ve seen a lot of tough guys this year. I don’t understand it — and don’t nobody do anything. Like, if you really wanted to do something, you could’ve done it. F–kin over there talking s–t like he’s the team tough guy. Get the hell out of here.”

Looking back in hindsight, Durant himself had a few exchanges with Green during his final year in Golden State in the 2018-19 season. While KD is mostly over all of that now, it seems he didn't like what his former Warriors mates had to say about McGruder.
