Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry came out with quite a performance on Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The former back-to-back MVP winner exploded for a career-high 62 points, which much like the rest of us, left Dubs teammate Klay Thompson more than impressed.

Thompson took to Twitter to congratulate his backcourt partner for the amazing feat:

Thompson was clearly delighted with Curry's out-of-this-world performance, but it also provided the former with an opportunity to flex a little bit. For Thompson, it was also a chance for him to remind the basketball world that he too has eclipsed the 60-point mark once in his career. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard dropped 60 points against the Indiana Pacers back in 2016 — in just three quarters.

As an added tidbit, Curry's 62-point effort allowed him to join Thompson in a highly-impressive Warriors franchise record:

It was Curry's night on Sunday, however, with the Dubs superstar finishing with a career-best 62 points on 18-of-31 shooting and 18-of-19 from the charity stripe, with eight triples, five rebounds, and four assists in 36 minutes of action.

Curry's jaw-dropping effort led the Warriors to a 137-122 victory over Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Sunday's contest was a rematch against the Blazers, who blew out the Dubs on New Year's Day, 123-98.

There has been some talk about Curry's inability to carry the shorthanded Warriors early in the season, and the six-time All-Star came out with quite a response on Sunday. This serves as a great reminder — especially to the naysayers — that Curry still remains to be one of the top players in the game today.
