With a looming free agency only months away, a few teams have penciled Klay Thompson's name as a potential unrestricted free agent who could be pried from the Golden State Warriors. The sharpshooting guard let his feelings be known, unsolicited, before a national broadcast of a Wednesday night game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Klay Thompson told us before the game, unsolicited, that he wants to finish his career as a Warrior.”

This is hardly the first time Thompson has expressed this in front of the media, having done so in the offseason, on media day and throughout the season on different occasions.

Some believe that if the Warriors offer him anything less than the max, it would lead him to explore foreign waters, maybe even to seek a potential contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Yet Thompson himself has shown no indication of that, saying he's having too much fun being a part of this core and winning at the pace this team has won during the past five seasons.

It wasn't all roses for Thompson, though, as he experienced some struggles during his first three seasons before Golden State was able to put together a championship team.

While he hasn't been with the team as long as franchise star Stephen Curry, he was a vital part of the transformation of this franchise, which went from the league's laughingstock to the most hated juggernaut in today's era.

Actions will speak much louder than words come July, when it's time for him to put pen to paper and etch his words on his future.
