Klay Thompson, the inimitable shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors, has some thoughts on who he’d like to face off against in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
The Warriors are currently in line for the top seed in the West, which means that if the playoffs starts now, they would draw the LA Clippers in the first round. Per Mark Medina of The Mercury News, that exactly what Klay wants.
Klay Thompson prefers a Warriors-Clippers first-round matchup: "I would like to stay close to the Bay. L.A. would be nice because you don't have to travel far. But other than that, you can't really care & get caught in that. You have to face the best to get to a championship."

Klay Thompson, in his usual laconic manner, seems more focused on a comfortable travel situation than any on-court basketball concerns. You can’t blame him, as his innate shooting ability travels with him wherever he goes, and he is one of the main reasons the Warriors have won 3 out of the past 4 NBA Finals.
Klay is one of the best shooters in NBA history, and he has earned the right to be confident about facing off against the Clippers — a team that the Warriors have dominated over the years. However, this team has a different feel to it, as the last vestiges of Lob City have long since been cast off.
No matter where the Clips land in the West playoff race, they will be a tough out because they play hard and have a group of guys that play with chips on their shoulders.
