Here are two facts about former Los Angeles Lakers forward Mychal Thompson: he is the father of Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson and is a proud lover of Andre Iguodala’s arms.

Now that we have nourished your knowledge with a couple of factoids about Mychal Thompson, allow this writer to give you more tidbits of trivia about the life and times of the former Los Angeles Lakers big man.

Mychal spent a total of 13 years playing in the NBA from 1978 to 1991. In 1978, the Portland Trail Blazers made him the No. 1 overall pick of that year’s NBA Draft, thus becoming the first foreign-born player to get taken first in a draft. Five picks later, a dude who went by the name of Larry Bird was chosen by the Boston Celtics as the sixth-overall selection of that draft class.

Mychal played a total of seven seasons with the Blazers then one year with the San Antonio Spurs before suiting up for the Lakers. He was part of the Lakers team that won two titles in back-to-back fashion in 1987 and 1988.

Mychal walked away from the NBA in 1991, finishing his career with averages of 13.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists across 935 games played.

We’re not sure if we’ve already mentioned this before, but Mychal Thompson is also head over heels in love with Andre Iguodala’s arms.
