Golden State Warriors assistant head coach Mike Brown could soon find himself on the same bench in the NBA as his son. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, Elijah, Brown’s son, is planning to suit up for the Warriors’ Summer League team.

Standing 6-foot-4, Elijah is a combo guard who has a decent offense. In four years in college, the lefty averaged 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 129 games, including 92 starts. He began his collegiate career in the Big East with the Butler Bulldogs in 2013 before transferring to the New Mexico Lobos in the Mountain West Conference in 2014. After two seasons with the Lobos, Elijah jumped to the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 as a graduate transfer in 2017. He averaged 13.6 points in 34 games for Dana Altman’s squad that failed to get a spot in the Big Dance a year after making it to the Final Four.

Elijah Brown had his best season in the NCAA as a redshirt sophomore for the Lobos in 2015-16 in which he put up 21.7 points per game.

Elijah is a product of the famed Mater Dei high school in Orange County.

He is a long shot to get absorbed into the Warriors’ NBA roster, but at least he has the opportunity to turn some heads in the Summer League.
