The playoffs are right around the corner and several players are making their last efforts to be in consideration of their respective teams' playoff lineup.

Recently, Golden State Warriors forward Omri Casspi has been on the rumor mill. His teammate Quinn Cook, who has been performing well as of late, is seen as taking over his playoff spot. As reported by Melissa Rohn of the Bay Area News Group:

Per Logan Murdock of The Mercury News, Casspi said:

“First of all, that’s you guys talking,” Casspi said to reporters Wednesday afternoon. “I don’t get that feeling from our organization. At the end of the day, I’m focused on getting healthy and playing. That’s all I can control.”

Casspi signed a $2.1 million deal in the summer with the Warriors. As a shooter from downtown, he has thrived mostly from receiving kick-outs from Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson.

Recently, however, back spasms have kept him sidelined along with a right ankle fracture that's been bugging him his entire career. Sought for comment regarding his ankle, Casspi said:

[The fracture] is about as strong as a bone now,” Casspi said. “It probably happened when I was a kid. I was just scared if something happened there, it would be bad news.”

For the season, Casspi is averaging 5.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and is shooting 45 percent from downtown. It's still and wait-and-see whether or not Casspi does become part of the playoff roster for the Warriors. Though the picture is not looking good for Casspi, he remains positive. He feels like his team needs him more than ever as they defend their title.
